What are some fun easy computer games to play without internet access?

I'm just looking for suggestions for easy (not too intense or extreme) computer games. I'm 26 and pregnant and me and my husband are going on a super long car trip and we're not stopping. I'll bring the games with me on my laptop. I'm going to be bored and antsy so I want something thats not too challenging, but still fun.



In the past, I've really loved these games:

-Sims 1, 2, and 3 and the other Sims games

-Virtual Villagers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

-Theme Hospital

-Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, 2, 3



Just silly more girly childish games like that.

What games do you like, similar to the ones above that I could buy %26amp; try? Note: I won't have internet acess in the car. And I'm not crazy about shooting games or minecraft.

You might try something like Torchlight or Magicka, they're pretty decent top down role playing games, magicka being the harder of the two (easy to learn hard to master kinda thing)



Other games like theme hospital/sims could be stuff like Civilisations, Black and White (I think), then theres stuff like Theme park (tycoon clone), Theme hospital (my favourite lol)



If you want a good puzzle game - you might want to try something like "Monkey Island" or other point and click games, "Broken Sword" has always been critically acclaimed, I think those might be more easy going, as there is little in the way of "Action skill" needed to play, more a calm and methodical approach (might want to pack a walkthrough guide just in case! :))



my gf recommeds grabbing some of the laptop friendly sims games like castaway or life stories, just seeing as how you love sims and they weren't listed specifically, pretty good story to most of those.



can't think of much else to reccommend for ya, If you think you could ignore your dislike of the first person style of games you could try portal 1 and 2, not really "shooters", but they are first person, they have a great story and unique game play, really would be a shame not to play them.



finally, if you have a DS or something like that, (even and DS emulator on your laptop!) you could try to play things like "Rune factory" or "Harvest moon" - they sound right up your street, but obviously not the right platform, but not impossible.

Try out Plants VS. Zombies, it's really fun, addictive, and has a lot of great reviews for it.



I think PopCap offers a free trial for it anyway, but if you end up wanting to buy it, go to Steam to buy it since it's $10 cheaper.
